INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY FOR LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

KEY TO EMPLOYMENT

The Indigenous Community for Leadership and Development (ICLD) offers the following program to strengthen skills and successfully guide community participants to achieve desired growth and potential in employment opportunities. These highly interactive courses are delivered from Monday to Friday, and will work closely with staff or department to ensure that we meet each participants objective. Each Participant will have hands-on experience with computers to build their resumes, how to job search and create a presentation.

 
Create opportunities for community members to find their passion in employment

 

 The Indigenous Community for Leadership and Development (ICLD) offers the following program to strengthen skills and successfully guide community participants to achieve desired growth and potential in employment opportunities.  Participants in a full-time program:
  • Will learn core skills in financial literacy, technical integration, and workplace essentials

  • Learn to advance the personal development skills and customer care skills employers desire

  • Achieve industry certification to help them on their path to career development

  

 

Program Features
  • Customization of content to meet community needs

  • Flexible scheduling to support traditional calendars (feasts and food harvesting)

  • In community training; trainers travel to customer sites

K2E Graduate:

A person who acquires self-confidence to achieve their best version of success in employment, by setting goals to seek employment, further education, and/or entrepreneurship.

 

 

We will achieve this by:
  • Community Support: Working with Chief and Council, Economic Development, Office Staff, and Membership.

  • Student Empowerment: In class instructors and mentors will work with students to build confidence to ensure success.

  • Career Development: students will work towards developing an employment plan that will be ready to send to the nation, post-secondary, or training programs.

  • Culture Integration: facilitators stay in the community to gain an understanding of community environment, tradition, culture and practices.
